Founder’s Background
Jeff Baker has been a real estate investor since 2006 and licensed in Alabama since 2014. He is a founding member of Flat Iron Properties LLC, with 12 rental units and growing. Jeff is an officer in the Alabama Air National Guard with experience in program management and systems integration. He received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Seattle Pacific University in the year 2000, and various technical and professional certifications in later years.

Jeffrey Baker

Founder, CEO, Visionary

Jeff Baker founded Pinhook Development in 2016. He is a cyberspace operations officer in the Alabama Air National Guard, with experience in program management and systems integration. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Seattle Pacific University, as well as numerous technical and professional certifications. Jeff has been a real estate investor since 2006, and co-founded Flat Iron Properties in 2014 with Drake Daggett. He spends most of his free time exploring the outdoors with his dogs and his wife, Mila.

Dewayne Dent

Angel Investor - Founding Partner

Dewayne Dent is Pinhook's original angel investor. Following a long and distinguished career at U.S. Pipe, he retired to focus on family life and personal interests. In the summer of 2016, after a series of conversations with longtime friend Jeff Baker about an investment concept focused on real estate and renewable energy, he provided 100% of the seed funding to build the company and acquire its initial equity portfolio. He enjoys gourmet cooking, watching Alabama football with his partner, Steve, and long walks with his dog, Lucky.

Michele Red

Michele Red is our Director of Market Research. She is a longtime Huntsville resident who joined us shortly after our inception with a goal of contributing to our strategic planning efforts. She currently serves as a defense contractor, and is pursuing graduate studies in logistics management.

John Speigner

John Speigner comes to us via The Elements in Madison with a maintenance background and has been in the property management business since 2009. A single father of two teenagers, his free time is devoted to his kids as they grow in their extracurricular activities and sports. His love of the outdoors and his concern for his family's future drive him to continually seek out creative solutions and best practices  for our property destruction & rebuilding to create a legacy in our cities for those families that work hard to live in their home.


Drake Daggett

Drake Daggett is a System Safety Officer at the Missile Defense Agency and also has a small woodworking business out of his garage. He has a BS in Chemistry from the United States Air Force Academy and a Masters in Aviation Safety from the University of Central Missouri. He retired from the USAF in 2010. He started Flat Iron Properties with Jeff Baker in 2014. Drake is an avid golfer and woodworker. He also does math in public (the definite integral of 2xdx evaluated between 10 and 13!) and supports the local craft beer scene.

Erin Avant

Erin Avant is a technical logistics writer and journalist. Born in Chicago, Erin has an MA in International Business from Columbia College and 15 years of freight forwarding experience. An acclaimed live event photographer, published author and wife of the PdEV web developer, she devotes her spare time to cookies and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia re-runs at her home in Montgomery, AL. Mrs. Avant is a nationally ranked Clue player (#8 according to the app on her phone) and looks forward to the day someone finally bests her.
